Dr. Somachi Kachikwu is the Founder of The Learning Box International and a trailblazing educator known as The Learning Transformer. With over a decade of experience, she is redefining education to make it effective, engaging, practical, and relevant for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
As a global thought leader in curriculum development and international educational reforms, Dr. Somachi specializes in designing innovative strategies that bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and 21st-century demands. She combines her expertise in education, gender development, and strategic planning to create transformative learning experiences.
Her previous roles include contributions to USAID projects at Chemonics and managing Federal Government Scholarships at Nigeria’s National Universities Commission. She is also the visionary behind Gifted Minds Academy and the co-founder of the Books and Desserts Book Club, where she inspires intellectual engagement and lifelong learning.
Dr. Somachi’s academic credentials include a BA in Women’s Studies (Global Economics) from Wesleyan University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership from the University of Leicester, an MA in Gender Studies & International Development from University College London, and an EdD from Marymount University, where she focused on improving access to education in rural communities.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Somachi is a published children’s book author and an active contributor to boards and initiatives that prioritize education and gender equality. Above all, she cherishes her role as a mother to four exceptional young men, drawing inspiration from them to continuously innovate and transform education for the future.
