Dr. Somachi Kachikwu is the Founder of The Learning Box International and a dynamic force in global education, widely known as The Learning Transformer. With over a decade of experience, she is redefining learning by making it effective, engaging, practical, and relevant for learners across all ages and backgrounds.
A global thought leader in curriculum development, educational innovation, and international reforms, Dr. Somachi designs transformative strategies that bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and the demands of the 21st century. Her work blends expertise in education, gender development, and strategic planning to create learning experiences that are not only future-ready but also deeply impactful.

Dr. Somachi’s professional journey includes contributions to USAID projects at Chemonics International, managing Federal Government Scholarships at Nigeria’s National Universities Commission, and launching initiatives that expand access to quality education worldwide. She is the visionary behind Gifted Minds Academy and the co-founder of the Books and Desserts Book Club, an international literary community fostering intellectual engagement, networking, and lifelong learning.
In addition to her leadership at The Learning Box International, Dr. Somachi hosts the podcast Class Dismissed with Dr. K, where she amplifies the voices of rural educators and explores innovative solutions for global education challenges. She is also a published children’s book author, a youth coach, and an advocate for AI literacy and education accessibility.
Her academic background includes a BA in Women’s Studies (Global Economics) from Wesleyan University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership from the University of Leicester, an MA in Gender Studies and International Development from University College London (UCL), and an EdD from Marymount University, where her research focused on improving education access in rural communities.
Above all, Dr. Somachi cherishes her role as a mother to four exceptional young men, drawing daily inspiration from them as she continues to innovate, inspire, and transform education for future generations.
